2nd Test Flight - 11/9/2006

Morgan took the plane up today with the intent of checking out flap operation and beginning to sort out airspeeds etc.  Unfortunately the voltage problem, which seemed fine all the way up to static rpm, came back.   There was a pop and a bunch of smoke in the cockpit so he switched to a battery/ coil backup system shutting everything else off.  He wisely elected to come on back and will try to sort it out. Frustrating but the plane is flying great.  When anything else is going on the last thing you need to worry about is flying and he said that part was easy.

All looks good. He did come in conservatively fast and still without flaps so you can see that it does have a good float capability but settles right on when it approaches the right speed.
